Stained glass window with cherry blossom design

A stained-glass window painted in grisaille and with enamels on smooth glass, depicting a cherry tree branch. A yellow border frames the central motif. The vertical composition, which is particularly well-balanced, highlights the delicacy of the design and the quality of the glass painting.

Attributed to Fassi, a master glassmaker from Nice.

Black wooden frame, entirely re-leaded using traditional methods.

La maison Fassi de Nice is founded from 1858-1862 (selon les sources), with Joseph Fassi père, as maître-verrier (né à Chieri dans le Piémont en 1843, mort en 1920). It arrived in Nice in 1860 and was formed by the famous Milanese painter Bertini.
