Jean Veber (1864-1928) is a painter, press cartoonist, caricaturist. A student of Cabanel, he joined his brother, a journalist at the newspaper Gil blas, he also worked for l’Assiette au beurre and Le rire. His drawing of Bismarck as a butcher of his people caused a scandal in 1897.
